Tony Currie’s Memory Lane Club

“It’s coming up to a year now since we launched the Memory Lane Club, and I am delighted to say it has really taken off. The regular meetings are to primarily help former players who are suffering from the effects of onset dementia and other neurological issues, and at our last meet before Christmas we had close to 100 attendees. I couldn’t have achieved this without the support of the Sheffield United family, which includes Rainbow Blades. James and other members have attended regularly, and as a proud Rainbow Blades ambassador myself, I am so grateful for the support of the group. It’s fantastic to see what can be achieved on so many fronts when we all pull together under the Sheffield United umbrella.” – Tony Currie

“I was delighted to attend the launch of the Memory Lane Club almost a year ago and subsequent meetings since. Tony supports Rainbow Blades and is one of our ambassadors so it’s a privilege to be able to give back and support this fantastic and vital initiative. It’s testament to Tony that these meetings are so popular and from my experience attending, former players and their families are gaining enriching and meaningful support from the football club that is so dear to them.” – James Laley
