Today’s column is by 16-Year-Old Zach Beeden and focuses on three simple ways YOU can make a difference.
1. Know how to report discrimination
It is important to report any discrimination you see, hear or suffer from. You can report it through Kick It Out, to your nearest steward, or directly to the club via complaints@sufc.co.uk or tinyurl.com/reportSUFC
2. Look out for other supporters
Be aware of your surroundings and the people around you. If you see someone who appears uncomfortable, can you offer them support or empathy?
3. Sign up as a member of Rainbow Blades
Not only do Rainbow Blades support the LGBTQ+ Community, but they also actively work towards reducing all discrimination. To join, you don’t have to be LGBTQ+, as there are many Allies in the Rainbow Blades Community. Benefits of signing up include receiving a free pin badge, and everyone is welcome at the pre-game socials situated at the bar Lykke in New Era Square, just a 2-minute walk from Bramall Lane.
