Rainbow Blades have gathered together to remember George Baldock

A shirt was placed at the Bramall Lane memorial on behalf of the group and, at the request of members of the Rainbow Blades WhatsApp group, an online meeting, as well as an open-to-all meet up at The Albion on London Road, was arranged to share memories of George's time at Sheffield United.

Wendy spoke of being invited to the Blades Training Ground for a photoshoot celebrating Rainbow Blades. "We all arrived, chatting and guessing who would be there. I was giddy. Then the players walked in and there was Gorgeous George! Everyone knew he had arrived because I may have said his nickname a little loud! We did the photoshoot and George was lovely, chatting with me after and signing my hat. A moment that I will never forget."

Committee member Katey reminisced about the celebrations in the hotel following promotion and how George was leading the chanting, while Sarah was fortunate enough to be at the Player of the Year awards where the 'Allez Allez Allez' chant was proudly debuted by John Egan, with Baldock excitably joining in alongside his fellow defender.

Ben described him as "a proper, proper hero" and one member summed up everyone's shock by saying, "it's like we've all lost a really good friend."

Rest in peace, George, and thank you for the memories.
