Rainbow Blades has been amazing showing that I’m not alone in this

Today's Rainbow Blades column is by 14 year old Alfie Turton from Doncaster.

I've been a Blade since the day I was born. I've always loved our red and white wizards. On Monday 17th April 2017 I went to my first game with my amazing grandad and brother. Seeing the mighty Blades take the win and get promotion to the Championship is a moment I will never forget. Ever since then me, my brother Oliver and my grandad Eddie have been with the Blades through the highs and the lows. Seeing us get promoted to the prem and seeing that world class Tommy Doyle goal against Blackburn were moments I will never forget.

Over the years I have collected many shirts, scarfs, hats and caps. but of everything I own my Mark Duffy signed shirt is my favourite. It took me six years to finally meet the one and only bounce slayer!

One of my favourite parts of supporting Sheffield United is the amazing community. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community I’ve always struggled with belonging but Rainbow Blades has been amazing showing that I’m not alone in this. The Rainbow Blades are brilliant for promoting inclusivity for both LGBTQ+ players and fans.
