In today's Rainbow Blades column, 42-year-old Andy from Heeley shares his story of supporting United and his hopes for the season ahead.

I'm just about to graduate as a physiotherapist. I am currently at Doncaster Belles ETC but previously worked with Sheffield United Women for eight years, although my links with United go back far further.

Most of my family are Blades fans, so I wanted to watch them from a young age. As a child, I asked my dad (who sadly passed away in 2018), to take me to a football game. My first visit to Bramall Lane was as a five-year-old.

I joined Rainbow Blades as an Ally. I had heard many good things about the group and not just because of its culture but also how amazing the committee and members are.

I feel United have a good chance of being up at the top of the league come the end of the season. The new signings have been good in the games I've attended so far – Preston away, Wrexham, QPR and Norwich away. Hopefully we'll see more goals in the new strikers and from Gus and Cal.

Come on you Red and White Wizards!!
